This tutorial is for the html literate. If you do not know html, then this will be greek to you (unless, of course, you actually speak greek in which case you should just ignore the analogy). In fact, let me be as clear and concise as possible...

You MUST know html in order to understand this tutorial, and I mean it!!!
- It would benefit you to have another browser window open and work along with tutorial.
- You must have a paid account in order to create a style on Livejournal.
- Make sure the override box on your modify journal page is empty. This is important!!!
- Start at the "create style" page: here.
- There are four different options for which page to create.
- The "most recent events" page (your journal)
- The "Friends Veiw" (your friends page)
- The "Calendar" (obvious)
- The "Day Veiw" which is the page your journal shows when you go back far enough to see entries one day at a time.
For the purpose of this tutorial, I am choosing the "most recent events"
- You must now decide which livejournal style you are going to choose. You can start from scratch completely by choosing "none, or other below", but if you knew how to start from scratch you probably wouldn't be reading this tutorial. I am going to choose "Generator" because I find it the easiest to work with.
- Hit the "create style" button at the bottom of the page. All you've done so far has been to create a blank canvas to work on. You will have to edit your style now.
- Hit the "edit style" button. You can click on [Preview Current Style] to see what you have. It should be a basic Generator style with no customization at all. Example.
